My paid internship at ZACH Theatre was a 12 week long, full-time commitment. ZACH’s summer camps are offered to children ages 3 to 18, and, as an intern, I worked with a different age group each week.

Every Monday, I was assigned to a group of 14 students, and my primary responsibilities were checking the children in and out of camp each morning and evening, supervising and ensuring the safety of the students in the transitions between classes, leading and participating in theatre activities with the children, and assisting the teachers by co-teaching elements of the curriculum.

The interns were the only individuals that remain with the children all day long as we rotated between teachers throughout the day. Therefore, my communication and management skills were crucial in interacting with the children themselves, with the teachers, and with the administrative side of things in the front office.
